Ian Carpenter CTS – Project Manager/Engineer

More than a decade of broadcast and audio-visual integration excellence

Ian has worked in the Broadcast and Audio Visual industry for 15 years collaborating with many blue-chip clients.

As a project manager with Bloomberg Television, he oversaw the design and implementation of the videoconferencing infrastructure over IP and all European AV installations.

Enhancing Bloomberg’s online, on-air digital presence

For Bloomberg’s broadcast division, Ian helped build the company’s European audiovisual presence across six TV channels from news studios, remote camera systems, global Mpg2/Mpg4 video networks, head-end and TV distribution systems, transmission systems, digital content distribution and signal alarm/monitoring systems.

With AVE/AVM Ian project managed the central display video wall at the Lawn Tennis Association, HD auditorium installations for Sony and the Ministry of Defence and implemented a number of TV head-ends, IPTV and Baseband TV distribution systems, high end HD 7.1 intelligent boardrooms for Paramount Pictures and Invista Real Estates.

Managing the installation of many audio visual, videoconferencing and video wall installations were his main tasks at Electrosonic and included audio recording studios and auditoriums.

The Angolan audio-visual challenge

One of Ian’s most challenging assignments was delivering a multi-million pound project in Angola, West Africa.  This involved the provision of an advanced video and audio environment for a multinational oil company.  The project was successful honing Ian’s negotiating skills with a corporation, and elevated his logistics skills.

Traversing industry trends

A member of the British Freestyle ski team for three years Ian remains a keen skier to this day.

Ian is an Infocomm CTS Certified Technology Specialist, registered CSCS ECS1 Health and Safety, and member of the Chartered Management institute.
